Constitution is a combat skill that determines the player's maximum health and helps them stay alive.
Health[]
Constitution gains experience whenever a mob is hit successfully. Each constitution level increases maximum health by 10. A player's minimum amount of maximum health is 100 at level 1 constitution. Maximum amount of maximum health a player can have is 1290 at 120 constitution. Health is displayed above item hotbar as both, a bar and a number. Both show currently remaining health. The green health bar will gradually turn red when damage is taken and health is reduced. The numeric representation also decreases as damage is taken.
Replenishing[]
Health regenerates by itself overtime, in and outside of combat, though this is a rather slow way of replenishing health. The regeneration rate can be increased with healing prayers or with the constitution cape. A faster way to replenish health is to eat food. High level food restores more health than low level. Some foods can also be eaten raw but they replenish less health than cooked foods. Food can be obtained through farming, fishing, cooking, trading or by killing mobs that drop food items. These foods can all be seen in the guides to their respective skills.
Death mechanics[]
Once a player character's health reaches zero, the character dies and all held items are dropped to the ground in the form of a gravestone. This includes locked items as well. Untradeable items — such as fancy boots and clue scrolls — remain in the player's inventory instead of being stored in the gravestone upon death. The gravestone lasts 15 minutes during which the player can return to it and reclaim all the items that where held when the death occurred. If no items are held upon death, no gravestone will appear. Dying again while a gravestone exists destroys it. An exception to this is that dying while holding no items does not make an existing gravestone disappear. Dying to a mob in Wilderness results in a gravestone as well with the exception that other players may loot the grave after five minutes have passed from the death.
Dying in PVP combat does not cause a gravestone to appear. Instead, all the held items are transferred to the killer's inventory.
Respawning[]
After dying, the player respawns in their current respawn location. The default location is Lumbridge but this can be changed by visiting anchors in other cities. Changing the respawn location requires certain exploration level and costs money.
Experience Gain[]
Experience gain in the constitution skill is dependent on the style of combat you are using. If you are using melee, You will gain 1/3rd of the exp in the melee skill you are training. If you are using Magic or Ranged, you will gain 1/2 of your experience gained in that skill. These are according to if you are training on 100% xp in that skill. Training on balanced does not affect xp gain in Constitution.
Trivia[]
