Quests/From Flax to String

Have you ever wanted to craft your own strings from flax? Now is your chance to learn how to do exactly that!

Walkthrough[]

To start the quest, go to Draynor Village and talk to Maria at -717 / 65 / -12. She asks you to bring her a full inventory of Flax (36 pieces). Noted Flax works as well. You can get the Flax from -680 / 65 / 11, right outside her house.

Once you finish picking the Flax you need to go back to Maria and talk to her, she will ask you to kill 36 spiders.^[1] The spiders can be found around and within -682 / 65 / -210 fence. To get there, leave Maria's house and take a left and head to north. Continue along the road until you see a giant fence and the Draynor Manor. There are spiders scattered around the fence and Manor's proximity. Alternatively, you can tell Maria that you do not like combat, and skip this part of the quest. This is useful for a player looking to make a skilling pure character.

Once the spiders are killed, return to Maria. She tells you that she does not really know how to turn flax into a string as her husband has always done that part. She asks you to go to a -726 / 65 / 11 across the street and find the recipe book to craft String. The book can be found upstairs by right clicking the bookshelves.
